Enter the WWT Martin Mere Photo Competition 2017 and grab your chance to win prizes.



Many of you take photos of the wildlife you see at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre and, this autumn, we want to see them. The basics are simple, if its digital, if it’s of wildlife and was taken at WWT Martin Mere in 2017 it will be eligible. As well as a chance to win a great prize, we’ll be displaying these photographs at the centre.

There is one category to enter: Adult.

Terms and conditions

All photographic entries must have been taken at WWT Martin Mere in 2017. Each entry must be submitted under an individual’s name and should be accompanied by details of the where and when the photograph was taken.
The competition is open to all amateur and professional photographers. Amateur and professional entries will not be judged separately. Employees of WWT and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
Entrants can submit up to three photos as hi-resolution images via Flickr, through the Flickr group “Martin Mere: Photography Competition 2017”.
Entries sent by any other means will NOT be counted.
Images may be digitally enhanced to remove spots or scratches but not manipulated. Entrants can enhance the picture top make it brighter, cleaner etc, but not manipulate the content. WWT Martin Mere reserve the right to exclude any image they believe may have been excessively treated so as to alter its authenticity.
Any photograph that has won a prize in another major photographic competition will be ineligible for entry into the competition.
It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that all necessary permissions are obtained from any person featured in a photograph.
One winner will be chosen in each category and announced by the 10 December 2017.
Closing date for receipt of entries is 30 November 2017.
The winners will be notified of results by the 14 December 2017.
By submitting images you confirm that you are the copyright holder and creator of the image and that you will for any claims made by any third party.
Copyright will remain with the photographer. However by entering this competition the photographer/entrant agrees to WWT using the images for possible exhibition, publication and/or promotional use, including on its website and social media. WWT Martin Mere accepts no responsibility for the 3rd party dissemination of images shared on social media and other channels that are beyond its control.
The judges’ decision is final.
The judges reserve the right not to make any award if, in their opinion, none of the entries meet the required standard.
If there is any doubt, WWT Martin Mere will decide whether or not a photograph fulfils the competition criteria. If it does not, it will be withdrawn. WWT’s decision is final.
